Chad Carlson is a multi-Grammy-award-winning engineer based out of Nashville, TN. He also is a producer/songwriter/musician who works with the top players and musicians in the industry.

Chad was born and raised in Orlando, FL. He learned music early on playing both the guitar and French Horn, beginning in grade school. When he graduated high school, he went on to attend Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, TN. There he received a music scholarship for French Horn and played in the Chattanooga Symphony.  A few years later Chad was accepted to the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Phoenix, AZ.

 

Upon graduation in 2002, he moved to Nashville, where he found work at the world famous Sound Emporium Studios. There, he quickly became the assistant engineer on such projects as the motion picture soundtrack "Cold Mountain" with Nicole Kidman and Johnny Cash's biography, "Walk The Line".  Chad soon became Chief Engineer for Sound Emporium Studios and for Garth Fundis, a well respected Nashville producer of such acts as Trisha Yearwood, Sugarland, Don Williams, Keith Whitley, etc. 


In 2010, Chad won two Grammys - "Album of the Year" and "Country Album of the Year" for Taylor Swift's "Fearless".  Read more about his big win in Chad's exclusive interview with MusicGearReview.com.

In August of 2012, Chad signed a co-publishing deal with well-respected publisher Leslie DiPiero/Tom Leis Publishing and hit songwriter/publisher Victoria Shaw.

Recently, Chad has written songs for Jana Kramer/David Cook and the Scott Brothers from the TV show Property Brothers. 

 

In addition to his own productions, Chad also works with many other talented producers such as Nathan Chapman, Josh Leo, Mickey Jack Combs, Ross Copperman, Norbert Putnam and many others. 

 

Chad continues to work out of the top studios in Nashville, as well as his own studio - Cabana Sound.


In addition to his professional life, Chad is happily married to his wife Amanda with whom he has two beautiful children.
